KALISSA KIR

A multidisciplinary artist passionate about photography and visual arts. Born and raised in Conakry, Guinea, she pursued studies in applied mathematics and computer science for business management at Gamal Abdel Nasser University in Conakry.

Driven by a deep love for imagery and creativity, she moved to Senegal to deepen her knowledge of cinematic arts. She joined the Institut Supérieur des Arts et du Numérique (SUP’IMAX) in Dakar, where she earned a diploma in audiovisual studies. She further specialized in documentary filmmaking through a program with GIS GISS, led by the renowned filmmaker Moussa Touré.

A prolific creator, Kalissa Mamayimbé Kir has worked on multiple documentary and fiction films. Her professional journey spans multiple roles: studio director, photographer and videographer for a website, and photographer for a graffiti association. She currently works as a photographer and art curator with Sabali Inc., a communications company specializing in film and cultural production.

She received the Commitment Award at the African Photography Oscars in Lomé and was also named Ambassador of African Photography in Senegal during the Amazons of Africa Festival held in Parakou.

Her work is marked by a unique artistic sensitivity, reflecting her commitment to cultural exploration and visual storytelling.
